San Diego on a Budget

Living in Americas Finest City has its perks. From enjoying the wonderful weather, to ocean views, fantastic food, a mixture of cultures, a laid back vibe, and plenty of places to visit.  There’s no reason to stay on the house, so I’m looking for inexpensive outings in San Diego for the frugal folks like me.

Here’s what I’ve done in So Cal that’s budget conscious:

Pinot and Palettes $35

This awesome outing can be found at Liberty Station.  The station was once a Naval Training Center in San Diego.  Finding this place will be easy and parking was free.  For two hours we enjoyed an instructor led class and enjoyed drinks. The alcohol was fairly priced, I picked up a house wine for $5 and that’s all.

Total investment $40

Torrey Pines Hiking Trail

If you don’t have a gym membership and have around 3 hours I would suggest hiking Torrey Pines. Depending on where you park it may cost $10 for the entire day.  Also, you could park in certain areas for free.  The trail is beyond gorgeous, breathtaking would be another way to describe it.  What I love most about the trail is the level of ease you can hike through Torrey Pines.  If you want you may also stop and take a break and say a little prayer and show some gratitude for an amazing view.

Total investment $0

Sunsets and Drinks

I typically will grab a bottle of wine and head to the beach around sunset to enjoy the last hour of the day.

Total investment $15
