So I finally received my Polar FT7 watch and I can’t believe I now have a good way to gauge my workout. My gym workout consist of 20-25 minutes of cardio, I use the elliptical, I then do 20 minutes of strength training. So imagine wanting to have a accurate read of calories burned and heart rate during your workout, that’s what I was missing. So this morning I hit Gold’s Gym and did my normal routine, 3 miles on the elliptical and 20 minutes of core and leg work outs. Surprisingly at the end of my workout, I noticed that I’ve done a lot better than I could’ve ever imagined before my watch.
Now that I have this, I hope that I can start to set new goals for myself during this next year. There is a setting on the watch that shows me how to burn fat instead of just aerobic exercise. While my maximum heart rate was 194, I’ve learned that in order to burn fat I need to have a heart rate of 137. I will work on that tomorrow.
